AgroGreen specializes in the development, production and marketing of biological pesticides. Acquired in 1997 from Ecogen USA, the company has accumulated biotechnological and agricultural expertise in making crop farming more sustainable, reducing harmful pesticide residues and contributing to a safer environment.
AgroGreen's main lines of biological pesticides are bionematicides and biofungicides. Phytopathogenic Nematodes cost farmers billions of dollars in damage. Farmers also spend hundreds of millions of dollars annually on chemical pesticides to limit this damage. The situation is no better with fungal pre- and post-harvest rots, which cause a similar degree of crop damage and need equally expensive counter-measures.
AgroGreen alters this cycle of events by successfully treating the root causes of such infestations while protecting the commercial value of the final produce. AgroGreen biological pesticides have proven effective in commercial use and in extensive field trials conducted over several years in Israel, Italy, Turkey, Greece, and the USA.
AgroGreen owns and operates research, development and production facilities at the Minrav Science and Technology Park in Ashdod. It is a subsidiary of the Minrav Group, one of Israel’s leading developers. The Minrav Group deals in a wide variety of projects that include construction, wastewater treatment, engineering, and plastic products in addition to agro-biotechnology.
AgroGreen’s expertise and technologies are also applied to assist other companies in the Product Development stages as well as in toll manufacturing of biological pesticides and microbial products. On an outsourcing or cooperative basis, AgroGreen will undertake all Testing stages of an emerging product, taking it from concept to field results.
